MG Wright’s Retirement

Major General Jessica Wright, The Adjutant General, has announced her

retirement from the Pennsylvania National Guard after 35 years of

distinguished and dedicated service.  MG Wright has accepted a position at

the Pentagon as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Reserve Affairs)

for Manpower and Personnel.

MG Wright was named the 50th Adjutant General and Commander of the PNG in

February 2004.  Throughout her career, she has served in a multitude of

positions within our formation and through her commitment as TAG, has

championed several major actions towards the betterment of the training,

equipping, manpower and quality of life for our Soldiers, Airmen and

Veterans.  Though this is certainly a great loss for the Department of

Military & Veterans Affairs, the Reserve Component as a whole will benefit

from her service as a principal advisor on such critical issues as manpower

and personnel.

Major General Stephen Sischo, Deputy Adjutant General – Air, has been

selected to serve as Acting Adjutant General.  The Transfer of Authority will

be effective 18 October 2010.

Maj Gen Sischo was appointed as the DAG-Air in October 2006 and has done a

tremendous job in leading our PA Air National Guardsmen.  His vast military

experience and his 26 years of service make him the clear option to serve as

the Acting TAG.  He has commanded two of our Wings and with his depth of

knowledge and devotion to the organization, he will continue to lead the PA

National Guard in an exceptional manner.
