Herb Schneider Turning 103 December 17th!!

I received the following information from Paul Weidensaul. Thought it would be great if a bunch of us sent him a card

I just get a note from 148th Fighter Squadron Association. They want to honor Herb Schneider, who is the oldest member of the Unit. He will be 103 on December 17th. Herb served in WWII and then the 148th. I served with him at Dover AFB 1951-1952. He served in England as an Armament Officer.
He drove to all the Association meetings, until this year. He has the same name as my wife (SCHNEIDER), before, I married her.

The Military Association would like to send him BIRTHDAY CARDS, and Honoring him for his service. Here is his address:

HERB SCHNEIDER
Manor on the square
803 Penn Street
Reading, PA 19601

Until things get better, he is locked down in his room.

Thanking you for any help you might give.

Paul

National Wreaths Across America Day

This year with the virus it is thought that Indiantown Gap National Cemetery (IGNC) may not reach its goal of 100% wreath coverage.  So the enlisted council has taken on the challenge to ensure every unit member interned at IGNC receives a wreath. Thank you in advance for helping us reach our goal. Complete the order form and mail it to us, put your squadron in the veterans’ section of the order form and we will ensure your wreath is placed on the marker of a past member of your squadron.  Click the link below for the Sponsor Form.

Twenty Percent Soldiers – Book

Twenty Percent Soldiers:
Our Secret Life in the National Guard
SUSAN AND KEVIN DELLICKER

Click here to get it on Amazon

DESCRIPTION

The National Guard and Reserves is comprised of remarkable men and women who work behind the scenes as our nation’s supplemental fighting force. It’s a part-time job with a full-time commitment that
involves the entire family. They wear the same uniforms and train to the same standards as America’s full-time military. And when called to service, they fight right alongside the active duty. Nobody knows the difference. Yet they are very different.

Twenty Percent Soldiers is the true account of one couple’s life in the National Guard through eighteen years of part-time warfare. With humor and humility, Kevin and Susan Dellicker portray what it’s like to jump back and forth between having a “normal” civilian life in small-town Pennsylvania and conducting special operations missions in Southwest Asia. A tribute to all the part-time soldiers, airmen, and their families who have been fighting the Global War on Terrorism since 9-11, this story is also a call-to-action for politicians and military leaders to fix a broken family support system that is
failing the part-time force.

Twenty Percent Soldiers reinforces a truth that all Americans can embrace: With perseverance, love and faith, ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary things.
