CMSgt Ron “Skinny” Martin, retired

Obituary for Skinny Martin,

If you knew Skinny, you knew he focused on two subjects:  his career in the 193 Special Operations Wing, and Sports – especially the Softball teams he coached and played on.

He leaves a legacy of proudly serving his country for 39 years and becoming Chief Master Sergeant before retiring in 2005.  He was a father to Steve and Tracy, a grandfather to Anthony, Ashley and Alexis and Great Grandpa to Evelyn.  He also leaves his wife, Hope, after 35 years.

Skinny fought a difficult Battle with Dementia/Alzheimer’s but succumbed to the insidious disease in addition to Covid.  His family hopes that he will be remembered for all of his many accomplishments while serving the 193rd Special Operations Wing and the U.S.A., along with good times in general.  It’s all about THE DASH  – how his life was spent between the day he was born until the day he died –   ALL of the everyday life.

In memory of Ron and his family, Please help a Caregiver by giving them respite for just  2 hours a week, or supply a meal, or just a simply call/visit the caregiver so they can have a normal conversation/break during their “36 hour” day.  Also – spend your DASH with your loved ones so you all make terrific memories!
