Three Central Pa. African-American Civil War veterans given proper burial

Here are several photos that I captured today at the Huntsdale, Pa. service for three Civil War Buffalo Soldiers who were buried there 150 years ago.  The black men in the crowd are from a motorcycle club located in Harrisburg.  They  wear “Buffalo Soldier” back patches on their vests.  I spoke with several of them – they are some really cool men!    They served as an Honor Guard and they carried the caskets of the three civil war veterans.  I estimate there were over 100 people in attendance which included a black woman who is related to one of the deceased soldiers.  After the Huntsdale service, the Pa. State Police provided escort service to Ft. Indiantown Gap Cemetery where final burial with full military honors was conducted.  See the links below for more information.
