SMS (Retired) Philip S Hrobak Dies

Philip S. Hrobak, 77, of Swatara Twp., died Thursday, July 8, 2010 in Frey Village, Middletown. He was a retired Information Specialist for the former New Cumberland Army Depot; a Master Sgt. in charge of the mess hall of the 193rd Air National Guard, Middletown, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was the present Commander of the V.F.W. Post #710, Steelton, a member of the St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, Swatara Twp., American Legion, Loyal Order of the Moose and Rescue Hose Company, all of Middletown, West Shore Elks and the 40 et 8, Chambers Hill.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Hrobak and is survived by his wife of 52 years, Margaret Pavelic Hrobak; his children, Mary Kay Cummings and husband, Steve, Philip A. Hrobak and wife, Carol, and Stephen P. Hrobak; four brothers, Robert, James, Michael and Charles Hrobak; three sisters, Rosemary Roper, Joanne Uvacik and Mary Lou Garito; four granddaughters, Courtney, Kayla, Kristina and Kirsten.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jose Mera as celebrant. Burial in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with military honors. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second St., Steelton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg, PA 17111.
