CMSGT Norman T. “The Original Stormin’ Norman” Brown, 75, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of Shirley M. (Louser) Brown, who died June 2, 2009. Born in Lebanon, on November 2, 1936, he was the son of the late Robert G. and Lena R. (Brown) Brown. A 1954 graduate of Myerstown High School, he served in the PA Air National Guard as a Chief Master Sergeant and was employed as an Aircraft Mechanic Foreman in Middletown for 38 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, Pennsylvania Dutch Antique Automobile Club, Hershey Region Antique Automobile Club, Myerstown VFW, life member of the Richland American Legion Post 880, 193rd Special Operations Wing Association, Neptune Fire Company, Richland, Golden Age Air Museum, Bethel, Academy of Model Aeronautics, Cocalico Prop Busters, Inc., and the 148th Fighter Squadron Association. He is survived by a daughter, Susette H., wife of John Wolfe of Newmanstown; a son, Kevin S., husband of Carla Brown of Mt. Aetna; brother, Robert G., Jr., husband of Arlene Brown of Robesonia; grandchildren, Alexander and Andrew Wolfe, both of Newmanstown, Shelby Brown Miller, wife of Dennis of Lititz, Shane Feasler of Bernville, and Amy Yordy, Palmyra; seven great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Helen Louser of Richland; one niece; and one nephew. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 14, 2012, at 11 a.m. from Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. Stanley L Dove, Dies

Stanley L. Dove, 78, of Annville, died Wednesday July 6, 2011 in the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon. He was the husband of Fayetta Schriver Dove to whom he was married for 56 years. They would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on July 17, 2011.
Born in Meckville, Bethel Twp. on January 30, 1933 he was the son of the late Charles and Mapha Southerly Dove Walters. Stanley was a graduate of Jonestown High School, was a lineman with Bell Telephone for 35 years; was a US Air Force veteran serving in Japan during the Korean War and was in Pennsylvania Air National Guard serving for 30 years. He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church at Ft. Indiantown Gap, was a member of the Shellsville VFW and the Fredericksburg American Legion. Stan also was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved camping.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter Dorinda Dove, wife of Ron Ozer of Arden, DE; two sons David Dove and wife Renee of Salinas, CA and Douglas Dove of Annville; six grandchildren Zachariah Dove and wife Patricia, Solomon, Elijah and Tirzah Dove and Lily and Emily Ozer; six sisters Kathryn Herr of Jonestown, Margaret Vanover of TN, Annabell Perando of MD, Betty wife of Stanley Yancey and Louise wife of Buddy Schwartz both of Jonestown and Wendy wife of Kevin Kleinfelter of Lebanon. Stan was preceded in death by a son Daryle Dove, a brother Robert Dove, and a sister Jean Haldeman.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home and Crematory Rt. 72 and Campmeeting Rd. Jonestown. Burial will be held in Lemberger’s Cemetery, E. Hanover Twp. Viewing will be held from 9:30AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

William I Mengel Sr., Dies

William I. Mengel Sr., 89, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, passed away late Monday evening in his Hamburg residence with his loving wife, Marguerite S. (Huyett) Mengel, by his side. Born in Berkley, PA, he was the son of the late James L. Mengel Jr. and Mildred M. (Alspach) Mengel. Bill first worked at Cen-terport Elementary School where he taught Geography and Math, followed by enlisting into the U.S. Army where he began a lifelong career with the 193rd PA Air National Guard. After 36.5 years of service, he retired in 1979 as a Crew Chief Engineer.
He was a member of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Tuckerton; a Scoutmaster for Troop 155, Tuckerton; and a Commander of the Muhlenberg VFW. Bill is also survived by two sons, William I. Mengel, Jr., and wife Loretta D. Mengel, Port Clinton, and Scott A. Mengel, Hamburg; one brother, James L. Mengel III of MN; and one sister, Margaret M. Hinkel of Riv-erview Park. There are also four grandchildren: Courtney, Matt, Ben and Laura Mengel. Funeral Services will be Friday, May 27, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, 170 Tuckerton Rd., Reading, PA 19605. Burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery. There will be a public viewing from 10 a.m. until service time in the church. Family requests contributions be made to the memorial fund of his church at the above address.
