Nicholas John Bereschak, Sr., Colonel, USAF, PaANG (Ret) of Hershey, PA passed to the bosom of our Lord July 10, 2013. He is survived by Eleanore Bereschak Nee Souchak with whom he was married more than 50 years. He is also survived by daughter Barbara A. Bereschak (husband Tom M. Imboden), sons Nicholas J. Bereschak Jr, Brian P. Bereschak, Thomas A. Bereschak (wife Chrissy Trexler), Sisters Mary J. Mazur and Helen L. Bereschak, Sisters In Law Helen F. Bereschak and Dorothy Souchack, and Brother In Law Russell Souchak (wife Dorothy). He was born in Maple Ridge, PA in 1923 to father Nicholas Bereschak and mother Susan Bereschak. He lived in Shenandoah, PA and graduated from West Mahanoy Township High School in 1941. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1943 and completed pilot training in 1945 and subsequently attended Penn State University. He joined the PA Air National Guard in 1949. During his military career he served during World War II and flew combat missions during the Korean and Viet Nam Wars. His first command position was with the 148th Fighter Interceptor Squadron in Reading and he later assumed command of what would be become the 193rd Tactical Electronic Warfare Group at Olmstead Air Force Base in Middletown, PA. He accumulated more than 15,000 flight hours during his long and distinguished career. He served as Group Commander until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of St. Ann’s Byzantine Catholic Church since its founding in 1963. Panachida will be celebrated at 6:00 PM on Monday, July 15th followed by visitation until 8:00 PM in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Rt. 422 & Lucy Avenue in Hershey. Devine Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on July 16th at 10:30 AM in St. Ann’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 5408 Locust Lane, Harrisburg, PA 17109. Interment with military honors will immediately follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Harrisburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to his church.

Marlin Haldeman has passed away
Marlin L. Haldeman, 62, of Manheim took his last deployment and is safely home in the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Lloyd and Susan Hollinger Haldeman of Manheim. Marlin was the loving husband of Deborah A. Wike Haldeman and they celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary in April. He graduated from Manheim Central High School in 1968 and Millersville University in 1979 with a BA in Education. Marlin enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1970 which included an active tour during the Vietnam War. He then joined the PA Air National Guard in 1974 and retired as Chief Master Sergeant. He was Officer in Charge of the Electronic Communications Systems section of the 193rd Special Operations Squadron, PA Air National Guard. He conducted airborne operations of radio and television systems on the aircraft, Commando Solo and he received numerous medals and stars. Marlin was a member of Grace Church of Lititz and the Penn-Elm Lions Club. He was also owner/operator of M.L. Haldeman Aluminum Awnings, Lititz. His interests included gardening, biking and he loved to spend time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are three sons, Keith husband of Zara Townsend Haldeman of Wyoming, Scott Haldeman of Jonestown and Joel husband of Amy Zuck Haldeman of Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren; a sister, Kathy wife of Conrad Nasatka of Manheim; and two brothers, Larry husband of Deb Shelly Haldeman of Manheim and Mark husband of Karen Galebach Haldeman of Landisville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Haldeman.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service at Grace Church of Lititz, 501 West Lincoln Avenue, Lititz on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 7:00 PM with Pastor William C. Willard officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Penryn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service. Please omit flowers.
