Bill Thomas Passed Away

e011b73e-7d92-4581-a28b-6284432a6086William C. Thomas, 66, of  Hegins, passed away Saturday at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in York Springs, July 16, 1950, a son of the late Sterling and Blanche Milhimes Thomas.

Bill was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.  He served for over 30 years with the Air Force National Guard.

He retired as a heavy equipment operator from the Air National Guard, Middletown.

He was of the Methodist Faith. He was a member of the Tower City Loyal Order of Moose, Renova American Legion,Dillsburg VFW, Valley View Gun Club and a social member of the Valley View VFW.  He also was a driver for the Hegins Area Ambulance.

His greatest joys were spending time with his family, he was extremely proud of his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Renee Unger Thomas; two step-children, Sonya Raho and James J. Carl (Valarie) both of Tower City; six grandchildren; two sisters, Roxie Sultzbaugh, Dillsburg and Helen Bretz, Fredericksburg; three brothers, Robert Thomas, York; Donald and Jay Thomas both of Dillsburg. Nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held  Friday at 10 am  from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc. Tower City with Pastor Annette Shutt. Burial with military honors will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
